    There are many selves within us

    We are all born with an infinite number of different qualities or energies within us. One of our most important tasks in life is to discover and develop as many of these energies as possible, so that we can be well rounded, and experience the full range of our potential.

    We can think of these energies as different archetypes, subpersonalities, or selves within us. In a way, it’s as if there are many different characters living inside of us, each with its own task and purpose.

    I am getting to know the many selves within me.

    A love affair with the universe

    Because many of us have never really learned how to take good care of ourselves, our relationships have been based on trying to get someone else to take care of us. In the past, we may have tried to use falling in love to fill up an empty space within us. We are now finding that being alive is a love affair with the universe. Life is a love affair between our inner male and female, between our form and our spirit.

    I am now having a love affair with the universe.

     

    Many of us have never truly learned how to care for ourselves, leading our relationships to be based on the expectation that someone else will meet our needs. In the past, we may have sought love to fill the emptiness within us. However, we are now realizing that being alive is essentially a love affair with the universe. Life represents a connection between our inner masculine and feminine, as well as a harmony between our physical form and our spirit.

    I often imagine my male standing behind my female — supporting, protecting, backing her up. For a man, the image might be reversed. You might see your female as within or behind you — guiding, empowering, nurturing, and supporting you. When male and female energies are in harmony and working together, it is an incredible feeling. One becomes a strong, open, creative channel with power, wisdom, peace, and love flowing through.

    When male and female energies are in harmony, it creates a powerful connection. I often envision the male energy as standing behind the female, providing support, protection, and backing her up. Conversely, a man might see the female energy as being within or behind him, offering guidance, empowerment, nurturing, and support. When these energies work together in harmony, it leads to an incredible experience. It transforms you into a strong, open, creative channel, allowing power, wisdom, peace, and love to flow freely.

    Ask for images of male and female

    Get in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and relax your body. Now bring to your mind an image that represents your inner female. Take a look at your female and get a sense or a feeling of what she represents to you. Ask her if she has anything she would like to say to you and/or ask her any questions you may have. Once you have allowed yourself to receive her communication, take a deep breath and release her from your mind. Come back to a quiet, still place. Do the same process with the male. Then ask for the images of both male and female to come to you. See how they relate to one another. Ask them if they have anything they would like to communicate to each other or to you. Then once again take a deep breath and release these images from your mind. Come back to a still, quiet place.

    Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and relax your body. Now, bring to mind an image that represents your inner feminine self. Take a moment to observe this feminine aspect and sense what she represents to you. Ask her if she has anything to share with you and feel free to ask her any questions you may have. Once you have received her communication, take a deep breath and gently release this image from your mind. Return to a quiet, still place.

    Next, repeat the same process with the masculine aspect of yourself. Afterward, invite both the male and female images to come to you. Observe how they relate to one another. Ask them if they have any messages for each other or for you. Once again, take a deep breath and release these images from your mind. Return to a calm, still place.

    Men will reflect her shift

    Once a woman begins to trust and love herself more and starts to use her internal male energy to support herself, the behavior of men in her life will reflect that shift. They will either change dramatically and continue to change as she does, or they will disappear from her life to be replaced by men who are supportive and appreciative of her, mirroring her new attitude toward herself. I have seen this happen over and over again.

    When a woman starts to embrace and appreciate herself more, tapping into her internal masculine energy for support, the actions of the men around her will mirror that transformation. They will either undergo significant changes and keep evolving alongside her, or they will exit her life, making way for new men who are encouraging and value her, reflecting her renewed perspective on herself.     The traditional macho man has been taught to suppress and deny his inner female self, who becomes desperate to be recognized and loved.
