Give love to ourselves
When you are overly emotionally dependent on another person, life can become a constant state of fear. Because you depend on that person for your supply of love and protection, you must control that source at any cost, either directly, by using force, or indirectly, using various manipulations. Generally, this happens subtly. “I’ll give you what you need, so you will be just as dependent on me as I am on you. That way you will keep giving me what I need.”
We can stop this endless circle by feeling the love we can give ourselves. We can connect with the true and inexhaustible source of love within and feel the power of the universe protecting us and filling our needs. As we learn to love ourselves in this way, we also draw to us love from others.
