    As we do this work, we experience an increasing sense of wholeness, empowerment, aliveness, and a feeling of being ¨on purpose¨ in our lives.

    Learning from our mistakes

    We must remember that we are babies in the new world. We learn by making lots of mistakes, and often we may feel ignorant, frightened, or unsure of ourselves. However, we would not get angry at a baby every time he fell down, so we must not try to criticize ourselves for our natural learning process.

    We receive the support we need

    If we are honest with ourselves, we will readily admit that we are not making great music on the guidance of our rational mind alone. By tuning into our intuition and allowing it to become the guiding force in our lives, we allow the conductor to take his rightful place as leader of the orchestra. Rather than losing our individual freedom, we receive the support we need to express our individuality.

    Each of us plays a unique instrument

    We each play a unique instrument in the orchestra of life. If we play our part without regard for the conductor´s direction or the rest of the orchestra, then we have total chaos. If we try to take our cues only from those around us, it will be impossible to achieve harmony. However, if we watch the conductor (our intuition) and follow its direction, we can experience the joy of playing our unique part, and at the same time experience ourselves as part of a greater, harmonious whole.

    Don´t push yourself

    You can´t always force yourself to follow your intuitive feelings. Sometimes it simply feels too difficult or scary. Don´t push past what you are ready to do. Simply observe the process and be honest with yourself about how it feels and what happens. If you love and accept yourself exactly as you are, change will happen naturally and spontaneously.

    It takes Practice

    We need to reeducate ourselves to listen to and trust the inner truths that come to us through our intuitive feelings. We must learn to act on them, even though it may feel risky and frightening at first, because we are no longer playing it safe, doing what we ¨should¨ do, pleasing others, following rules, or deferring to outside authority.
    Learning to trust our intuition is an art form, and like all other art forms, it takes practice to perfect. We have to be willing to make ¨mistakes,¨ to try something and fail, and then try something different the next time. If we hold back out of fear of being wrong, learning to trust our intuition could take a lifetime.

    Take a moment

    One important step in learning to hear and follow your intuition is to simply practice checking in regularly, at least twice a day, more often if possible. Take a moment or two to relax and listen to your gut feelings. Cultivate this habit of communicating with your inner self.     Asking for Guidance

    If you have a problem that you need help with, try this technique. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and relax deeply. Imagine that you are in touch with your deepest inner wisdom. Formulate the problem in your mind, and ask for guidance from that inner source. Relax for a few minutes and be receptive to any feelings, images, or thoughts that come to you. The guidance may come to you right away, or it may come within the next few hours or days.

    Surrender to Life

    A part of us wants life, wants to make the commitment to live life as fully as possible, and is willing to trust our intuition and follow it from moment to moment. There is another part of us that doesn´t want to trust this inclination. “I can´t do this, it´s too much, too intense. I don´t want to surrender.¨ When we resist the life force, we experience only effort and struggle. When we surrender to life, the flow of energy increases, and we feel the passion of being alive.
